Rampant a Different Kind of Zombie Movie

When it comes to zombie movies, we've all got just about the same image in mind: the undead terrorising the living in a completely modern setting ala "The Walking Dead". Admit it, we've never really thought of it in any other way.

Then up comes "Rampant", which throws a bit of a new spin to things by having a zombie outbreak take place during Korea's Joseon dynasty.

See? Piqued your interest, hasn't it?

"Rampant" (original title: 창궐 which literally means, "Outbreak") stars Hyun Bin, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Eui-sung, Jo Woo-jin, Kim Ju-hyuk, and Jo Dal-hwan. It also comes from the makers of the famed "zombies on a train" movie, "Train to Busan", so you just know that expectations for this are high.

That said, the take that this Korean film will have on zombies is not the most original. This is not necessarily a bad thing, however, because the premise itself promises to be entertaining.

Hyun Bin stars as Yi Chung, a womanizing, gambling and booze-loving prince who fights against "Night Demons" to save the Joseon nation. He was actually a political hostage of the Qing Empire, but he managed to return to home when his brother, Crown Prince Yi Young (Kim Tae-woo) called him back after many years.

Prince Yi Chung also happens to be the world's greatest martial artist, and it is because of this that he is tasked with the mission of destroying the Night Demons.

Are you excited for this Halloween treat? Because we sure are!

"Rampant" is set to be released on 25th October (tomorrow!) in Malaysia.
