#MyFirstTime: I Got into an Accident

Updated: Aug 6, 2018

I’m sure everyone has experienced a “first time” in their lives. It is compulsory as without the first time you won’t have a second time, right? (I’m trying to amuse you, by the way. Has it worked?) Hey, please read this in a serious voice.

So, here is the first time I want to talk about, but don’t expect my first time to be as great as Harry Potter because I’m just a random girl.

My first time getting involved in an accident. I know it’s a scary first time, and I had it when I was just 18 years old.

Here’s how it began…

I am the eldest daughter in my family and I got my driving license when I was 18, just a few months before the accident, actually, and I was still a P-licensed driver at the time. Long story short, during lunch time I had to send my sisters to school. With a heart that was overwhelmed with excitement, I sent her to school in my dad’s car.

It was the first time I sent her to school by car.

It happened in a blink of an eye when I tried to cross the road. Suddenly, a motorcycle hit my car and the rider flew off like a bird and fell like a “nangka busuk”. I froze.

Luckily, my mom’s office was just across the road. She and her colleagues rushed out to see what happened. My mom was shocked.

Luckily, the person I hit was okay and they said there was no need to lodge a report as I was still under probation at the time. In the end, we settled the matter.

Due to accident, I was terribly traumatised and couldn’t drive for almost two years. Even now I’m still scared to drive as the scene is still clear in my mind.

That was my first time. What about yours?
