by Crystal Wan Ying |

So, it's that awkward time between lunch and dinner. You had an early lunch cause man you were starving! And now your stomach is loudly expressing its emptiness again! It's almost dinner time, but not just yet... and that vending machine looks oh so tempting, and oh so quick.

But don't give in yet! There are snacks which are made of fresh ingredients which aren't filled with chemicals, and most of which can easily be made in your office kitchen, or pre-packed in the morning to munch on throughout the day.

No Extra Washing Required 1. Yoghurt & Fruits

Why don't you try some yogurt and fruits! The tangy yogurt is packed with protein and stave off the hunger pangs, and you can change it up depending on what fruit you prefer, or whatever fruit is in season. If you're in a hurry, you can just throw some berries in a pot of yogurt. Nuts and coconut flakes can be added for that extra crunch too!

Apple is also another great fruit that goes with peanut butter - you could make apple's with peanut butter dip, or apple and peanut butter pizza if you're feeling fancier! Just core the apple and slather the nut butter over it, sprinkle some nuts and chocolate chips, and even the kids will love this healthy snack!

1. Hard Boiled Eggs

Hard boiled eggs make the perfect pre-meal snack, high in protein and does not pack a punch in calories. If you wanted to add more protein to the meal and have some time to spare, you could make some homemade hummus and get fancy deviled eggs for a snack too!

1. Canned Tuna/Salmon

In a rush, don't have the time to cobble together food, but want to snack healthy anyway? 2. Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

Otherwise, store bought sliced cheese would go great with cherry tomatoes - or don't bother slicing the cherry tomatoes and just pop them in after a rinse, it works too! Vegetables and fruits are always a healthy choice, and cherry tomatoes are fruits by nature but considered vegetables by nutritionists so you can't go wrong with that.

And there you have it! Healthy and easy snacks to help you combat your hunger pangs in between meals. So the next time you feel hungry, instead of reaching for that bag of chips, remember these snacks and whip them up in a couple of minutes. A helpful tip would be to keep the fresh fruits and veges in your fridge (be it office or at home), so its more convenient for you to whip these up, without excuses. We hope these healthy but yummy crunch will help you get through the day!
