Crunch Held a Writers Event to Bring Together Budding Writers in KL
Updated: May 23, 2019
If you are a writer, you know that writing can get lonely. Unlike many other creative work that is usually done collaboratively, writing is something that takes long hours with just you in front of your computer (or notebook, if you are an old school soul).
We work very closely with our Crunch’s Writers’ Community and we found an amazing talented bunch of writers. But again, we realized everyone was writing pretty much on their own. We wanted to bring together these writers, to meet each other, and learn from each other, and hopefully even take it to the next level by collaborating to create content together.
Thus, our Writers’ Event was born! Of course, we cannot emphasise this enough, Crunch stands as a community driven platform, and we know we are not experts in most things. So that is why, we reached out to an established magazine, CLEO Malaysia’s editor, Lina Esa to join us for this networking event to share some tips with our community on how to write better content that resonates with their audience.
What we did for our event was bringing together our writers over to Bean Brothers, PJ (because of its amazing space and even better coffee) on a Saturday morning, to network and connect with likeminded people over breakfast; followed by the sharing session from Lina (who is one of the most down to earth people we have ever met!).
Our favourite part of it all was how engaged all the attendees were, which sort of took us by an awesome surprise (because it is in our Malaysian blood to keep questions to ourselves)! There were so many of you who asked questions, and even further discussed amongst yourself on how you can further connect to improve each other’s writing.

Again, we are so thankful to everyone who attended our event! We hope you had a fruitful experience.
Thank you to all our partners especially Lina and the team from CLEO Malaysia for collaborating with us on this event, Bean Brothers for being so welcoming and accommodating on the food and venue, Gogoprint Malaysia for printing our amazing buntings and stickers (check them out in our IG stories!).
We hope to bring more of these kind of events to our amazing community! If you would like to join our future events, do drop us an email at email@example.com to tell us what kind of events you are interested in, and we will be in contact with you.
