I’m sure that we, as Malaysians, are proudly obsessive with bubble milk tea! With the sudden surge of various famous Taiwanese bubble milk tea chains opening (more like in SS15, Subang Jaya), some would wonder - which one is actually worth the hype to queue for an hour just to get a fix, despite rain or shine?
If you’re a bubble milk tea connoisseur, the list of stores below might not be a surprise to you. But to those who want to try something new other than the usual Tealive or GongCha, these places are actually pretty underrated and delicious to fix your cravings!
1) CHATTO

Chatto, a homegrown brand infusing Japanese concepts, provides premium quality goodness in every cup due to their imported tea leaves from Taiwan, Japan and China, which sets them apart from their competitors.
Their signature beverages – Brown Sugar Pearl Latte, Charcoal Pearl Organic Oolong Tea, Matcha Pearl Latte and White Pearl Milk Hoijcha, are very much worth a try.

The combination of brown sugar pearls as well as the goodness of fresh milk will guarantee that you’ll be skipping your way to boba heaven.

Tucked away in the middle of The Starling Mall lies Cojiitii, a humble shop that lets its bubble milk tea speak for itself. Going against the trends of brown sugar boba with fresh milk, Cojiitii boasts a variety of unique milk teas paired with a choice of chocolate or matcha, which will surely make your taste buds tingle.

4. Chun Yang Tea

Most bubble milk tea stores focus on the bubbles or the milk but Chun Yang strives to focus more on the taste of tea. Wanting to inherit the unique process from the ancestors in modern day culture; finding a ‘perfect’ blend of milk with their fragrant teas.
Apart from their Brown Sugar Pearl with Fresh Milk, one of of their best-selling drinks would be the Honey Lemon Oolong Tea, Green Tea Lemon with Aiyu Jelly, Pudding Oolong Tea with Fresh Milk and Black Tea Cheese Macchiato.

5. Soylab

This soy-based café uses non-GMO* beans, serving all types of soy desserts ranging from bingsu to ‘fuwa-fuwa’ – a Japanese term used to describe a fluffy texture – pancakes. It’s safe to say that you’ll be in for a treat when you grab yourself a cup of their signature black soy milk with brown sugar pearls (Bean Looking for Her).

6. Möge Tee

Möge Tee game by bringing an interesting twist to the table with their signature Bubble Flow Soufflé – a soufflé pancake topped with cream and pearls cooked in brown sugar.
If that doesn’t make your taste buds tingle, I don’t know what will. I mean, just look at it.

7. OneZo Malaysia

Despite being located at the same row with The Alley, Xing Fu Tang and DABOBA in SS15, Subang Jaya, One Zo is considerably one of the more underrated places. You won’t find much of a crowd there or even a queue! They are known to offer not only a variety of drinks (which taste good) but even bubbles like caramel, taro, and.. cactus!
One of their their signature drinks would be their ‘Dirty Tea’ along with additional topping of their Pokémon shaped pearls! (yes, this is not joke).
Fun fact: Onezo claims to be the first tea shop to offer fresh handmade bubbles.
