5 Coffee Places You Can Actually Get Your Work Done
by Carmen Tan. |
There are days where we feel like just doing work at home. And on some days, we want a breath of fresh air to get away from the sluggishness where we can get work done and get a good caffeine fix.
Here are some of places for you go-getters out there! Although some of the picks have been around for some time, these are the places you can count on to find a nice corner to get your work done.
1. My Espresso Cafe

Tucked within the shop lots in USJ 21 comes a place that sells good coffee. This place is ideal when you want to get your focus on 100% mode because of it’s quiet ambiance. The tables are wide enough to comprehend both your laptop/tabs and your notes. Of course, a cup of hot beverage would complete the café-study experience (especially on a rainy day!).
Address: 63, Jalan USJ 21/11, USJ 21, 47630 Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Operation hours: Wednesdays – Mondays, 12pm – 930pm. Closed on Tuesdays.

2. Kopenhagen Cafe

This has got to be one of my favorites! Not only do they have good coffee, but the minimalistic design with just enough sunlight beaming into the space makes it ideal for one to feel comfortable to be in. Don’t forget to order a pastry (or two) to give yourself a little pick me up (I mean really, why not).
If you’re looking for a place that opens early, Kopenhagen opens as early as 7am!
Vista Kiara, 3, Jalan Kiara, Mont Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
Operation hours: Monday to Friday, 7am – 7pm; Saturday & Sunday, 9am – 7pm.

3. The Bean Belt

Wide tables, comfortable chairs, convenient location, this place should be your next go-to. Choose from a variety of drinks, sandwiches and even cakes as you answer work calls and emails. More importantly, they serve amazing coffee (long black is my fav, along with latte) that is just strong enough to pull you through the day. With this place being LRT & KTM accessible, this open concept café is definitely worth going to!
UG-11, KL Eco City Mall, Jalan Bangsar, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
Operation hours: Monday – Sunday, 10am – 10pm.

Although this café is known for their hand-drawn latte art, don’t be fooled as it is also a good place for you to do work as well. Worried about lunch? This place got you covered: from western breakfast options to pasta, to rice bowls and desserts. While being spoilt for choices for food and beverages at reasonable pricing, the environment is almost zen-like – perfect for focusing on work!

5. iCon Brewings

This quaint little café is situated in front of a salon, where you can get a drink and a nice blowout too! Due to the tiny space, this café only has limited seats available – which makes it a great and quiet place to complete your work because it’s not crowded. Coupled with a great coffee aroma and bright ambiance and good WiFi connection, it helps keep you focus on your work and maybe even amp up your work efficiency. My personal favorite is their iced latte – strong enough to get my caffeine fix and milky enough to tame that bitterness. Hungry halfway through your work? Don’t worry, because they sell food too!
Address: 24, Jalan Manis 3, Taman Segar, 56100 Batu 9 Cheras, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Operation hours: Monday – Sunday, 11am – 11pm.
