5 KL Based Asian Restaurants for Your Asian Palate

Kuala Lumpur; the city that can offer you almost any type of food and cuisine you could ask for especially great food for our savoury loving Asian palate! Imagine having a fulfilling dish cooked with the best of ingredients, blended with spices and sauces that leave you wanting for more every single time you have it and eaten while spending quality time with your loved ones… what dish comes to your mind? Is it the all time favourite nasi lemak? Or a warm hearty bowl of phở?

Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure you’re starting to tingle in excitement already thinking about where to get your next meal in KL. Here are five of my personal favourite Asian restaurants that actually serve good food to fulfil your cravings:

Nasi lemak is one of our national dishes and you can get from a lot of places. But to know which place serves the best one, that is the challenge. The nasi needs to have that perfect ‘lemak’ taste paired with sambal that is not too spicy and not too sweet along with that crispy fried chicken.

Nasi Lemak Famous is located in Bangsar, by a roadside near Bangsar Village. They serve the best nasi lemak in town with your choice of side dishes. The rice is cooked with just the right amount of coconut milk while the sambal is not too sweet or salty. It is a bit on the spicy side though so make sure you go slow on it if you cannot handle the heat! It is also best to pair the nasi lemak with their signature fried chicken that is marinated in spices that will surely explode in your mouth!

Bangkok, Thailand is known for their amazing street food. And this restaurant, it brings Thai streets to you! Designed to look like a typical street in Bangkok with stalls of food, it gives you the experience of visiting Thailand while dining. They offer more than 100 types of Thai street food and if that is not heaven on earth, I do not know what is! If you are planning to visit the restaurant, make sure to try their grilled striploin, steamed lime squid, prawn tom yam and Nutella pancake. The portion of food is also very generous so it is a good idea to share with friends!

If you are feeling like having a good bowl of soup noodles, this is the place to go! They have a few branches not only around KL but in Selangor as well. Aside from the phở, their spring rolls are the best appetizers to have to share and their plain banh mi is also a must try. Other than serving good food, the restaurant also has a nice ambience with aesthetically pleasing decorations. But I can guarantee that you might forget to take pictures because you will be so busy enjoying your phở!
